Rebecca Biederman is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Holistic Esthetician in Portland, Oregon. She began her education in bodywork at East West College of Healing Arts in 2006. While in school there she studied deep tissue, Swedish relaxation, and Thai massage. In 2008 she graduated, received her massage license and has been practicing ever since.

Her continuing education has been in the fields of plant-based skincare, Craniosacral Therapy, facial massage, deep tissue massage, cupping, facial cupping, and structural work. In 2018 Rebecca trained with Evan Healy in San Diego to further her knowledge of working with beautiful small batch, plant-based products and deeply nourishing holistic facials. She has also received continuing education in the fields of Neuromuscular Therapy and Chinese Facial Massage with a specific focus on TMJ release techniques.

In May of 2022, she studied with Pat O'Rourke in Seattle and completed a 16-hour structural neck, head, and intraoral certification. In February of 2020, she studied with the Dr. Vodder School International to train in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and completed their full Level 1 training. To continue her education and grow her skills with MLD, in June of 2022, Rebecca completed a 45-hour certification with the Klose School of Lymphatics and became a Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist. She currently takes ongoing herbalism courses. Most recently in October 2023 Rebecca earned a certificate of completion with the Elderberry School of Herbalism after graduating from their 8-month foundational course and herbalist training program. This work informs everything she does within her practice of bodywork, skincare, and holistic healing. She also attends monthly skincare trainings and masterclasses through Botnia Skincare.

Rebecca believes in the power of touch and massage as an integral part of holistic health, wellness, and stress management. People come to massage and skincare for different reasons and with different needs. It is Rebecca's goal to listen to each of her client's concerns and adapt her treatments accordingly. She believes that everyone and every body is unique. It is essential in bodywork and skincare to treat each client individually, with respect and with kindness, in order to provide the best possible protocol for each person. Rebecca's massages and facials are dynamic and therapeutic. She creates her treatments by combining a variety of techniques, along with an intuitive approach, and over sixteen years of experience. All are welcome at Uncommon Yarrow.

Yarrow is a deeply nourishing and restorative plant that can be used for soothing sore muscles, healing bruises, reducing inflammation, and cleansing the skin. Magically, yarrow is used for courage, protection, and love. It can be in your first aid kit, your kitchen, and part of your beauty regimen.

Yarrow has deep roots in mythology. It is both ancient and modern, grounded and divine. It is transmutable. Yarrow has a wide breath of healing physical properties that often mirror it's more ethereal and spiritual qualities. It has been known throughout history as a treatment for wounds. It can stop bleeding. It is a perennial herb that grows wild in fields, tamed in garden boxes, finds roots in tough soil, is available and plenty, hardy and strong.

Although known as common yarrow, it is not common. Yarrow is exceptional, extraordinary, remarkable, salient, and very much, uncommon. It can alleviate melancholy and create movement when things feel stuck. It grounds without holding down. It is a natural ally. Yarrow is a guardian, a heart protector, and a teacher. It is an excellent healer for healers. It propels us towards lightness, roots us in the earth, and fortifies our spirits.
